Samizdat is the secret writing and distribution of banned literature in the former Soviet Union. It is an underground press–literally “self-publishing house”, but with a subversive twist. If the KGB nabbed you, you’d be sent to Siberia faster than you could say “Molotov cocktail.”

If you’re writing a book, a dissertation, or an essay and you plan to self-publish or find an indy press to publish you, then you too are bucking the system.

You are engaged in samizdat.

And to make your work accessible to as many people as possible, you will need an editor.

That’s me.

If you have a lot of content already but don’t know how to get it to your audience, you will need a creative solution.

I have those.

If you need help writing a proposal or resume, repurposing old content, turning your dissertation into a book, or even self-publishing for real (bypassing massive “self-publishing” corporations to maintain complete control and keep all the money) you will need someone to kindly help you out of the box–a creative catalyst.

That’s me too.

So, pour yourself a V&T and explore the site. In addition to what I can do for you, there are many links to wonderful resources no creative proletariet can do without.

And a hearty spasibo to citizen Mako Fujimura, who’s glorious “Little Gidding” graces the middle of the Samizdat star.
